Hurler Rodwell DeBrito gave the Toledo Mud Hens a solid start. The native of Brooklyn, New York helped his team defeat the Wilkes-Barre Barons, 3-2, at Fifth Third Field. DeBrito, the winner, moves to 5-11. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up no walks. Norberto Robledo earned his 14th save in 19 tries.

In the bottom of the fourth, Gebhard Bothe delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Toledo shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Mud Hens in front, 3-2.

After the game, Toledo manager Jose Villalobos applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The win puts Toledo at 40-81.
