Clippers Take Nail-Biter Over Bears
|
The Columbus Clippers defeated the Newark Bears, 4-3, in 10 innings. Evan Wogan led the way, going 4-for-4 for Columbus. Justin Heffington was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Aaron Bossert. Columbus is now 65-68, Newark 67-66.
The Clippers got a clutch hit from second baseman Ethan Bryan. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Clippers.
"It was bedlam at the end," Wogan said.
