Cubs Suffer 8-1 Setback
|
Victoria took on Iowa in front of a lively crowd.
The Victoria HarbourCats stopped the Iowa Cubs, 8-1, behind an impressive performance from Ramo Muñoz. The 26-year old left fielder made life miserable for Iowa pitching. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Patrick Napier collected his 1st save.
Tied up with the Cubs in the bottom of the fourth inning, the HarbourCats got a boost from designated hitter Edward Webber. With the bases loaded, Webber saw a full count sinker from Liam Cramer and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Victoria on top, 3-1.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said HarbourCats manager Alejandro Travieso, "I like our chances."
The win takes Victoria to 1-1.
