Isotopes Stick 66ers with 2-0 Loss
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes downed the Inland Empire 66ers, 2-0, at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque pitcher Carson Hege definitely brought his A-game. The winner was Hege. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Thad Madden. Donald Umphenour nailed down his 1st save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Isotopes had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when center fielder Wilton Taboada hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Thad Madden and made the score 2-0, Isotopes. Taboada went 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
Hege called the win "a collective effort."
Inland Empire is 2-3 after the defeat.
