On Road, Sidewinders Top Aces, 6-2
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Tucson Sidewinders and Reno Aces.
The Tucson Sidewinders downed the Reno Aces, 6-2, at Blues Stadium. The Sidewinders were led by Scott Kibbie. Kibbie went 1-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win went to Caleb Hartig in relief, making him now 1-0. Max Turner took the loss for Reno. Chris Buchanan locked down his 2nd save.
Tucson used the timely hitting of Kent Paskel to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sidewinders on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Paskel attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
With the loss, Reno drops to 3-2.
