Wiegert Goes Off, But HarbourCats Win
The Victoria HarbourCats and Honolulu ThunderSharks obliged fans looking for a good time.

T.J. Wiegert had a good game, but he could not keep the Honolulu ThunderSharks from falling, 8-7, to the Victoria HarbourCats at Security Service Field. The Honolulu second baseman went 3-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 in the loss. Alexander Van de Walker got credit for the save for Victoria. It was his 4th of the year.

Had Jack Gober not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gober hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the HarbourCats.

"We ground out the win," said Gober. "That's all that matters."

With the win, Victoria boosts its record to 6-6.
