Triplets Saddle Aces with 5-4 Loss
|
Theo Norzagaray had a good game, but he could not keep the Reno Aces from falling, 5-4, to the Evansville Triplets at Blues Stadium. The Reno designated hitter went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 in the loss. Willis Van Komen, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 3. Fabio Heimer got credit for the save for Evansville. It was his 1st of the year.
Evansville used a well-timed hit by Denzel Weatherspoon to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Triplets ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to get this one," said Weatherspoon. "Wins have been hard to come by."
Evansville has a record of 2-8.
