66ers Earn 4-3 Win Versus Sounds
|
Inland Empire pitcher Thad Madden did his part in helping his team beat the Nashville Sounds, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Igor Cobos earned the save for Inland Empire. Nashville, now 2-10, has gotten off to a terrible start.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Chris Lyons came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Nashville pitcher Samuel Heck, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Inland Empire on top, 4-3.
"Same old, same old, unfortunately," said losing manager Landon Murray.
