HarbourCats Defeat Baby Cakes, 4-2
|
The New Orleans Baby Cakes got a sterling performance from pitcher Wade Trent, but the Victoria HarbourCats still prevailed, 4-2. Trent threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. With the loss, New Orleans drops to 8-8.
Victoria relied on the hitting of Harrison Timmis to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the HarbourCats on top, 3-2. For the game, Timmis had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
New Orleans manager Joe Gillilan said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
