Montes, Goldeyes Rumble to 13-3 Win
The Winnipeg Goldeyes clobbered the Tucson Sidewinders, 13-3, at Greater Nevada Field. Winnipeg right fielder Yoquel Montes led the onslaught. He was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The winner was Wally Byron, who threw 81 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with no runs on 2 hits. Tucson is now 10-8.

With Winnipeg leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Montes came up to bat against Tucson pitcher Rogers Williams. Montes hit a sinker to right for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Goldeyes on top, 5-0.

"We got our butts kicked," said Tucson manager Gil Mitchell.
