Triplets Knock Off Rainiers at BB&T Stadium
|
The Evansville Triplets topped the Tacoma Rainiers by the score of 8-0, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman José Carbajal. Carbajal was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Triplets on the day. With the win, Evansville is 8-10.
The Triplets got an important contribution from designated hitter Sydney Lynn, who in the bottom of the third punched a first pitch changeup into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Triplets ahead, 3-0.
"It all comes down to execution," said Evansville manager Mike McGarry. "Baseball 101."
