Aces Rally For 3-1 Win
|
The Aces grabbed a win, 3-1, at Blues Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Sacramento pitcher Gabriel Nova. Nova went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Asa Luther, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. The loss puts Sacramento at 9-9.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, third baseman Eric Short came through big-time for the Aces. With Reno trailing 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
In postgame comments to the Reno Daily News, Short said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
