Round Rock picked up a win at Principal Park, bumping off the Iowa Cubs, 5-2. Pitcher John Thompson was a major reason the Express emerged victorious. Iowa falls to 12-10.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Elwood Akehurst? The Round Rock shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Express on top, 2-1. For the game, Akehurst had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
