The Reno Aces beat the Sacramento River Cats by a score of 8-2. Reno third baseman Jair Leija deserved the lion's share of the credit. Leija went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Aces. The loss drops Sacramento to 10-11.

In the bottom of the 1st, Reno took the lead on a 2-run single by Robbie Harada. At the time, the Aces were trailing 1-0, but Harada's hit with two outs against Sacramento pitcher Bob Aller put them in front, 2-1.

"Jair leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Reno manager Ross Winfrey.
