Hare, 66ers Muscle Up, Punch Out ThunderSharks, 22-1
|
The Inland Empire 66ers clobbered the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 22-1, at Smith's Ballpark. Leading the onslaught was Samuel Hare. He went 4-6 with a home run, 3 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 6 for Inland Empire. The win went to Jordan Karbon in relief, making him now 1-0. Alfredo Escutia took the loss for Honolulu. Inland Empire, at 19-5, has sizzled in the early going.
Eduardo Polina had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the second for Inland Empire. With the bases loaded and the 66ers leading 2-0, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Honolulu manager Neil Kuntz. "They took us to the woodshed."
