Rainiers Win Again, 8-7, Extend Streak to 7
|
With catcher Jake Fornicola leading the charge, the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Tucson Sidewinders, 8-7, at Cheney Stadium. Fornicola, who is rated as the 83rd best prospect by BNN, was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3. The win was credited to 28-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Harris in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Ruben White took the loss. Tacoma has an impressive 23-5 record.
Kyle Bonner was 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Tacoma. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ruben White. It was his 3rd walk of the season.
"We take it day by day here," said Bonner, "and today was a good one for us."
