Rainiers Roll to 8-3 Win Over Sidewinders
|
The Tacoma Rainiers picked up a win at Cheney Stadium, dropping the Tucson Sidewinders, 8-3. Edward Matter was the difference-maker. The win puts Tacoma at 19-9 this season.
Tacoma center fielder Scott Gallion contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Rainiers ahead, 3-0.
Gallion said his team "played with focus."
