Reno wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher R.J. Donardo, falling to the Tacoma Rainiers, 2-1. Donardo threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Tacoma has now reeled off 10 straight wins.

One of the key players for the Rainiers was left fielder Charles Beck, who drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning. For the game, Beck was 2 for 4 with a double.
