Storm Chasers Take Down Rainiers, 5-1
|
Greg Heald imposed his will on the Rainiers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-1 Omaha triumph. Royce Koudou closed it out for Omaha, earning his 1st save. The 6th-place Storm Chasers improved to 12-17.
Eudoxio Almanza had a big 2-run home run for the Storm Chasers in the bottom of the third inning. With Omaha leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Lon Denate and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Storm Chasers on top, 3-0.
Omaha manager Nick Rodriguez called it "a pretty good win."
