Harpool Excels, But Chihuahuas Win
|
The Oklahoma City Wranglers could not turn a fine performance from third baseman Odin Harpool into a win. Instead, the El Paso Chihuahuas prevailed, 7-6. Harpool hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Jeremiah Yurcak closed out the game, earning his 3rd save. At 14-18, the Chihuahuas find themselves in last place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.
Rob Crisp drove in one run for El Paso. With one out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Crisp had a clutch at-bat. Facing Oklahoma City hurler Samuel Wylie, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Chihuahuas a 7-6 lead.
Chihuahuas manager Sydney Lynn wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
