ThunderSharks Flatten Sounds, 9-2
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Tony Malone, the Honolulu ThunderSharks defeated the Nashville Sounds, 9-2. Malone was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the ThunderSharks. Honolulu now owns a record of 19-15.
Honolulu third baseman Ismael Garufo contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 28th hit of the season and put the ThunderSharks ahead, 4-2.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Darius Hogan.
