Winnipeg Gets Another L
The El Paso Chihuahuas took on the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Southwest University park.

Mort Wilson, who is tied for 6th in the PCL with a 8.5 K/9 rate, imposed his will on the Goldeyes from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 6-0 El Paso triumph. In 5.1 innings, Wilson surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. David Henderson got credit for the save for El Paso. It was his 2nd of the year.

The Chihuahuas had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 3-0, El Paso, with two out. Winnipeg, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Frederico Bravo dug in at the plate, but on a 2-2 fastball, he struck out.

The slumping Goldeyes have lost 6 straight.
