Rainiers Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
In a well-pitched game between the Tacoma Rainiers and the Winnipeg Goldeyes, pitcher R.J. Torres was superb. The Tacoma right-hander helped his team win, 2-0. In 7 innings, Torres surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Tanner May finished the game for Tacoma and earned his 12th save.
Draco Galvan helped out the Tacoma cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a walk.
"R.J. made some big pitches when he needed to," said Rainiers manager Chris McCollum.
The Rainiers improved their record to 28-8 by beating Winnipeg.
