Aces Score Late to Upend Baby Cakes, 9-4
|
The Reno Aces grabbed a win, 9-4, over the New Orleans Baby Cakes at Zephyr Field. Reno third baseman Logan Giguere was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Myles Davidovich closed out the game, earning his 13th save. At 24-11, Reno is in second place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.
Reno used the timely hitting of Eddie Himes to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aces on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Giguere.
