Led by Shane Ivey, the Round Rock Express defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-2. Ivey, a native of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Express. Benjamin Kandell earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. R.J. Rouse earned the save for Round Rock, his 12th.
Gilberto Hetki aided the Round Rock cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 5.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Ivey. "But I have better dreams after a win."
Round Rock is now 19-19.
