Bive Delivers Walk-Off Win for Isotopes
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes did just enough to sneak past the Sacramento River Cats, 3-2, at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque pitcher J.R. Briggs, in particular, had a standout performance. James Weeks earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Albuquerque is now 17-23, Sacramento 18-22.
Bob Bive was the walk-off hero for Albuquerque. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Isotopes left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Winning is always a team effort," Bive said after the game.
