|
Right-hander Christian Takada mesmerized the Tacoma Rainiers while leading the Iowa Cubs to a 4-0 victory. Takada got the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. Takada allowed no runs. The Cubs are now 16-22, while the Rainiers fall to 23-15.
Edgar Sablich had an important at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the third, when he hit a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season put Iowa on top, 3-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Iowa manager John Sweet.
