Aces Best Sounds, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between Reno and Nashville, pitcher Gervino Cúper was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. Picking up the save was Cody Castel, his 2nd. The Aces improved to 13-26.
Reno used a well-timed hit by Elijah Hettinger to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Cúper. "Successful pitchers do it."
