ThunderSharks Score Late, Topple Chihuahuas, 3-2
|
El Paso got a valiant performance from pitcher Dwight N'Diaye, but it wasn't enough to beat the Honolulu ThunderSharks. Honolulu won the game, 3-2. N'Diaye threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The ThunderSharks now have a record of 22-19 with the win over El Paso.
Tony Malone was the walk-off hero for Honolulu. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the ThunderSharks center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That's baseball," said El Paso manager Kelly Ury. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
