Big Day for Pirijanian as Chihuahuas Down ThunderSharks, 7-5
The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Honolulu ThunderSharks, 7-5, at Smith's Ballpark. Luke Pirijanian, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Nathaniel Conder earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Picking up the save was Robert Lacoste, his 5th.

El Paso needed the clutch hitting of Timo Mestaz to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 6-5. For the game, Mestaz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Pirijanian.

The first-place Chihuahuas sport a record of 27-16.
