Sacramento Wins, 5-1, Behind 2 Turgeon Home Runs
|
With left fielder Kerry Turgeon leading the charge, the Sacramento River Cats defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-1, at River Cats Ballpark. Turgeon slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Antonio Serrato earned the save for Sacramento. Sacramento is now 24-18. Omaha is 15-27.
Turgeon had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Wes Dempsey, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the River Cats a 3-0 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Turgeon.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Turgeon.
