Oklahoma City wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Mohamed Bruno, falling to the Edmonton Edge, 1-0. Bruno threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up the save was Ivor Gordon, his 4th. The victory puts Edmonton at 15-29.
The Edge got a big at-bat from designated hitter Emiliano De Lira. For the game, De Lira was 1-3 with a home run. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Edmonton a 1-0 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," De Lira told a Edmonton Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
