Aces Suffer 8-6 Loss to Winnipeg
The Winnipeg Goldeyes beat the Reno Aces by a score of 8-6. Winnipeg first baseman Lance Vaughan deserved the lion's share of the credit. Vaughan was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Goldeyes. Carson Thorne earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 3-0. Alan Johnson picked up the save for Winnipeg, his 12th of the year.

Vaughan had a timely hit for Winnipeg in the bottom of the sixth. With Reno trailing 5-4, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 6-5, Winnipeg.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Winnipeg skipper Tyler Weatherwax.

The Goldeyes now have a mark of 27-20.
