NBT Bank Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Reno Aces and Winnipeg Goldeyes.
Caden Cooper pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Winnipeg Goldeyes, despite Cooper's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Reno Aces at NBT Bank Stadium. Reno reliever Roberto Sánchez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Caden Cooper shouldered the loss. Mancio Soto sewed up the save, his 7th.
Reno used the bat of Theo Norzagaray to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"This was a tough loss," said Winnipeg manager Tyler Weatherwax. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
The win puts the Aces at 15-33, while the Goldeyes drop to 27-21.
