The Winnipeg Goldeyes got a magnificent performance from pitcher Maurice Assou, who muffled the El Paso offense en route to a tight 3-1 Goldeyes win at NBT Bank Stadium. In 5.1 innings, Assou surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Jeremy Richardson sewed up the save, his 3rd.

The Goldeyes got an important contribution from designated hitter Kid Albright, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a full count sinker into right for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Goldeyes ahead, 3-1.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Albright told the Winnipeg Daily News.

The Goldeyes raised their record to 30-22.
