Sacramento River Cats starter Menudo Echevarria was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Iowa Cubs, 5-3. Echevarria yielded 3 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-3.

Barrett Shader, who is tied for 7th in the PCL in RBI with 31, took Iowa hurler A.J. Abston deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the River Cats on top, 3-2. In all, Shader had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
