Chihuahuas Send Nashville Home with 6-1 Loss
|
El Paso and Nashville got after it at First Tennessee Park.
The Nashville Sounds had their hands full with El Paso Chihuahuas starter Lincoln Margaritescu, who frustrated Nashville hitters while leading El Paso to a comfortable, 6-1 win. Margaritescu yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-3.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Theodore Lockett? The El Paso second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Chihuahuas on top, 4-0. For the game, Lockett had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Margaritescu called the win "a team effort."
The 5th-place Sounds now sit at 27-29.
