The Iowa Cubs got a stellar performance from pitcher Sammy Montes, who handcuffed the Albuquerque offense en route to a win, 5-0, at Isotopes Park. Alfons King picked up the save for Iowa, his 4th of the year. The 8th-place Cubs are now 23-31, the Isotopes 24-30.

Montes made it look easy. He scattered 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 2-0.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Montes.
