Evansville Triplets starter Willis Van Komen pitched a strong game against the Honolulu ThunderSharks at BB&T Stadium, leading the Triplets to victory, 4-0. The winning pitcher was Van Komen, now 2-3. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Grey Flood picked up the save for Evansville, his 1st of the year.

Karter Sandlin had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season put Evansville on top, 4-0.

Van Komen told the Evansville Times: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."

The Triplets raised their record to 25-30.
