Cubs Pull Out Late-Game Win, 1-0
|
Iowa Cubs starter Noam Bennett turned in a sterling performance against the Tucson Sidewinders, leading his team to a slim, 1-0 win. Iowa currently is in first place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison at 35-21.
The Cubs got a clutch hit from first baseman Alexander Capilla. In the bottom of the 14th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Cubs.
"Noam is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Iowa manager Tony Osorio.
