Omaha pitcher Willie Beaulieu had a large part in his team beating the Iowa Cubs, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mancio Soto snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Luke Trevino suffered the loss. Omaha is 4th in the Pacific Coast League American Divison with a record of 31-28.

The decisive blow was delivered by Oren Barker in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Luke Trevino to win the game for Omaha. The home crowd went nuts.

"The crowd was juiced," said Barker.
