Omaha Edges Iowa in Extra Innings
The Omaha Storm Chasers and Iowa Cubs treated fans to some rich drama.

The Storm Chasers earned a hard-fought, 5-4 win in 11 innings at Werner Park. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Iowa pitcher Bruce McCann. McCann went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Omaha has now won 3 straight, while the Cubs have lost 3 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Rick Howard in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Robert Evans to win the game for Omaha. The home crowd went nuts.

Howard told a Omaha Citizen reporter that he felt "elated" after the win.
