Triplets Topple Goldeyes, 3-1

The Evansville Triplets defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 3-1, in Pacific Coast League action at BB&T Stadium. Evansville pitcher K.C. Ruic had a standout performance. The 7th-place Triplets now have a win-loss record of 27-36.
The Triplets got a big at-bat from second baseman Erwin Strandlund. For the game, Strandlund went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Evansville a 2-1 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Strandlund, "and today was a good one for us."
