Starting pitcher Luka Freedom pitched well enough to help the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Edmonton Edge, 4-3. Vicente Gaytan got credit for the win, improving to 2-5. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The second-place Chihuahuas are 35-27.

El Paso used a timely hit from James Babilonia to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chihuahuas ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We had a chance to win," said Edmonton manager Nick Hiles, "but we didn't get it done."
