Round Rock Gets 4-2 Road Win
|
Round Rock pitcher Kent Michael did his part in helping his team beat the Iowa Cubs, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Earning his 8th save of the year was Cal Marisov. The Express saw their win-loss record go to 37-28. At the same time, the Cubs fell to 28-37.
Round Rock relied on the hitting of Wade Briggs to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Express on top, 4-0. For the game, Briggs had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Express manager Victor Ferrer praised Michael after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"
