Due in large part to third baseman Tony Castillo, the Sacramento River Cats sunk the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 6-3. Castillo went 2 for 4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bob Aller, the winner, is now 1-5. He struck out 0 and walked 2 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The win boosted Sacramento to 37-29.

It could have been a different outcome for Sacramento, had it not been for Sebastian Schleusner, the slick-fielding second baseman . Schleusner contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Sacramento up, 2-0.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Sacramento manager Jake Braithwaite.
