River Cats Drop Goldeyes, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Sacramento River Cats and the Winnipeg Goldeyes, pitcher Yorick George was the difference between victory and defeat. The Sacramento right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 River Cats win. The winning pitcher was George, now 8-3. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. The third-place River Cats have a record of 38-29.
Sacramento used a clutch at-bat from Devin Robison to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the River Cats ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Robison told the Sacramento Today.
