|
New Orleans starter Brad Tucker pitched well against the El Paso Chihuahuas at Zephyr Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-0. Tucker, the winner, moves to 8-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. José Hernández got the save, the 11th for him this season.
Sherman Sanchez drove in one run for New Orleans. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Vicente Gaytan. It was his 50th RBI of the season.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Tucker said.
The win gives New Orleans a season record of 44-36.
