River Cats Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Clancy Tomak brought his A-game to help Sacramento defeat the Edmonton Edge, 2-1. Sid Pomfret picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-6. F.J. Elliott suffered the loss. Sacramento, with the win, is 28-52.
Had Sampath Iorio not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Iorio hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the River Cats.
"Clancy was dictating to their hitters," said Sacramento manager Jared Arnold.
