Late Rally by 66ers Seals 7th Straight Win
|
Inland Empire pitcher Ray Morrison did his part in helping his team beat the Omaha Storm Chasers, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Nick Thompson finished the game for Inland Empire and earned his 19th save. Inland Empire now sits at 47-34, while Omaha falls to 20-61.
Inland Empire used a clutch hit from Derek Williamson to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the 66ers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said 66ers manager Chris Kerr.
