Triplets Snatch 3-2 Win from Isotopes
|
The Evansville Triplets finished things off in style.
Starting pitcher Joe Oliver gave the Evansville Triplets a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Albuquerque Isotopes, 3-2, at BB&T Stadium. The win was credited to George Jordan in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Larry Weil took the loss.
Grant Burnett was the walk-off hero for Evansville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Triplets pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Burnett was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Evansville News, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
The Triplets, at 50-33, sit in second place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.
