Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Iowa Cubs and El Paso Chihuahuas.

The Iowa Cubs had to overcome a fine performance from El Paso pitcher Mikey Randall to grab a 3-2 win at Principal Park. Randall allowed 3 runs over 5.2 innings. Kurt Copeland recorded the save, his 11th.

David Kirk chipped in for Iowa with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.

"It was a good effort all around," said Kirk.

The 8th-place Cubs sport a record of 35-53.
